Golf Solitaire: from controls to your first round

Start Golf Solitaire by looking at the playing area and its controls. Remove all 35 tableau cards. Look at what changes after your first action. Read the objective before making your first input. Look at what changes after your first action.

Seven columns of five, one stock pass. Free solo play, no wagering.

Take a closer look while playing

Watch the feedback after an action. A message can explain whether the input was accepted or whether a rule needs attention. Use the example to check your reasoning.

What you need to achieve

Remove all 35 tableau cards. Keep that objective in view throughout the round. Review the board or playing area as it changes.

How a round unfolds

  1. Take an exposed bottom card one rank above or below the waste top, allowing ace–king wrapping.
  2. Click an exposed card or eligible pair to remove it.
  3. Draw when useful.
  4. Undo reverses a choice. New deal shuffles again.

The controls to know

Click or tap cards and piles. Wide tableaus scroll inside the game; use Undo, Hint and New deal where shown. A careful first action helps you become familiar with the layout. Return to the rules if the result is unexpected.

Work through an example

Waste queen accepts jack or king. Apply the same reasoning to the position in your own round. Choose a deliberate next step.

A mistake to avoid

Random deals are not guaranteed solvable. A hint is a legal move, not a winning strategy. Take a moment to reassess the position before continuing. After a move, check what changed. Decide which rule explains the new state before acting again.
