Learn your way around Pyramid Solitaire

Start Pyramid Solitaire by looking at the playing area and its controls. Remove all 28 pyramid cards. Keep the game area visible while you use its controls. Compare the starting position with the example in the Guide. Check the relevant rule before repeating a move.

Pyramid, stock and waste; one stock recycle. Free solo play, no wagering.

Practice beyond the first move

Before your first action, say what you are trying to achieve. Then compare the result with the goal. Refer to the controls when needed.

Aim for this result

Remove all 28 pyramid cards. The feedback beside the game helps you follow the round. The example below illustrates a decision.

A walkthrough of the rules

  1. Only uncovered cards are selectable. Pairs total 13; a king removes alone.
  2. Click an exposed card or eligible pair to remove it.
  3. Draw when useful.
  4. Undo reverses a choice. New deal shuffles again.

Choosing and moving on screen

Click or tap cards and piles. Wide tableaus scroll inside the game; use Undo, Hint and New deal where shown. Read a button’s label before selecting it. Contact us with the game and device if a control does not respond.

A useful example

An exposed queen pairs with an ace; a jack pairs with a 2. Your next round may have a different position, so inspect it before acting. Keep the game’s format in mind.

Keep this in mind

Random deals are not guaranteed solvable. A hint is a legal move, not a winning strategy. Take a moment to reassess the position before continuing. Locate the buttons and input area before beginning a long round. Use the on-screen labels to avoid an accidental restart.
